What will we do in a yoga class?
In a basic yoga class, we will flow through different postures of the body concentrating on the breath. We will warmup, do forward and backward bends, twists, do positions on our backs and bellies, sitting or kneeling, cool down, and relax. All poses are modified and choosen for you and your needs, as such, every class is different. At the end of every class we focus just on relaxing for about ten minutes.
What is yoga?
The word yoga comes from roots meaning "union." The ultimate goal for a yogi is to find a deep connection with all things. It is not a religion. It is not about turning your body into a pretzel. It is a five thousand-year-old science of purifying mind, body, and spirit.
